Empowered!

“Empowered” is the title of the conference in Japan from 14th – 17th November in Japan!
We will be gathering people from Community Church Nagoya, from Yeonnam Community Church Seoul, and other pioneering missionaries in Japan to meet together to see God for His work in Japan.

Paul said in his letter to the Philippians: 1:3–5

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

Philippians 1:3-5 (ESV)

I am really looking forward to being back with our brothers and sisters in Community Church Nagoya, and I am asking for your support and partnership in the gospel as I go. It is important for me to know that there is prayer cover for our trip, that people in the U.K. and other nations are praying. Therefore, I am inviting you to partner with us by praying for us and our time with the church in Nagoya.

Preaching and Teaching

As we minister to the church in Nagoya, we want to teach the important doctrines of our faith so that as they grow, the church will be built on solid foundations. We believe that the Lord is leading to cover some of these topics:

  • Filled with the Grace of God
  • Filled with the Holy Spirit
  • Growing in the prophetic
  • Leading yourself and others into freedom
  • Growing a loving community of believers

We will also be looking at the vision for Nagoya, Japan, and the nations, seeing where we are stuck and where there needs to be breakthrough. We will also spend time studying and learning from the ministry of Jesus in the Gospels.

PLEASE PRAY for Holy Spirit anointed preaching and teaching and that the power of Jesus will be demonstrated as we open His Word together.

Team

Martin Kingsley
This time I have the pleasure of ministering with Martin Kingsley who is from Hope Church Crewe. Martin and his wife, Sarah, are exploring a call to move to Japan for the sake of the advance of the gospel in that nation. On the way to Nagoya, Martin will visit Tokyo Institute of Technology where he will give a lecture on ‘European approaches to the Bioeconomy, climate change and de-carbonisation’. Please pray for this as working with universities could be a way into Japan for them in the future.

PLEASE PRAY for Martin as he travels, for his connection with the Tokyo university, and for his ministry to the church. Pray for Sarah his wife as she stays in the UK and for their three children Olivia, Ben and Bekah.

Nilesh Raveendran
The pioneering leader of Community Church Nagoya is Nilesh Raveendran. Nilesh and his wife Risa have been pioneering in Nagoya for many years, and started Community Church Nagoya at the beginning of 2022. Both he and Risa are passionate about Christ’s church, the people of Japan, and the nations.
Nilesh runs an English school which has led to many good relationships some of which have seen people come to faith.
Nilesh has worked hard to organise the conference and will be leading us through the four days in Hamamatsu.

PLEASE PRAY for Nilesh and Risa and their two sons Aaron and Izaac. Pray that Nilesh will be refreshed during our visit and that all of his hard work in organising this trip will bear much fruit.

NoPlaceLeft Team
It will be great to have with us pioneers from the local NoPlaceLeft team. They will especially serving un on the Thursday at the conference

PLEASE PRAY for a real connecting of hearts and for them to impart some of their evangelistic gifting to the church

Yeonnam Community Seoul Church Team
We will have a team from the Relational Mission church in Seoul, South Korea with us at the conference and they will be sharing all that God has been doing for them, especially as they build a loving growing community of believers in that city.

PLEASE PRAY that this team will be a blessing to us and that they also will be encouraged. Also pray for strong connections to be formed between the two churches.

David Bareham
And myself! Many of you reading this will know me, but for anyone who does not:
I am married to Anita and have three grown up children. I am part of the eldership team at Community Church Chafford Hundred, and serve other churches in the UK and in other nations, including Japan.

PLEASE PRAY for Anita as she will be staying in the UK. For myself that I will have much wisdom in conversations and that God will use the preaching, teaching, and ministry to strengthen the disciples in Nagoya.

Other Prayer Points

  • This is not just about preaching and teaching. Please pray for real encounters with God which will change lives as we worship, pray, and minister to each other
  • Please pray that as we teach into being set free we will see breakthrough in lives that have been held in bondage
  • Please pray for the prophetic voices to be heard through our time together
  • Please pray for the nation of Japan

If you feel that you have any prophetic input please message me.

Thank you so much for your prayerful support and I look forward to bringing back many great testimonies from our time in Japan.

For the glory of Jesus and the advance of His church!

Every blessing,

David

Please note as you pray that Japan is 9 hours ahead of the U.K. and so you need to pray maybe a day ahead of the itinerary as 07:00 in the UK will already be 16:00 in Japan!
