Exciting Growth in the Nagoya Internship Programme
It’s been a joy to witness the continued growth and impact of the Internship in Nagoya, Japan. Since its inception, this program has welcomed passionate and dedicated individuals eager to grow in their faith and be equipped for ministry. Most recently, we’ve celebrated a fantastic cohort of interns who have completed a three-month training—fully envisioned and prepared to serve the Lord in new and meaningful ways.

A Well-Rounded Training Experience
The internship offers practical and theological training in three key areas:
- Disciple-Making & Church Planting – Learning how to make disciples and plant healthy, New Testament-style churches.
- Cross-Cultural Ministry – Gaining tools and insights for effective ministry in a different cultural context.
- Biblical Theology – Building a strong foundation in understanding and applying God’s Word.
In addition to the classroom-based learning, interns are actively involved in local church ministry—serving, sharing, and applying what they learn in real time. Internships are available from three to twelve months, offering flexibility to suit different seasons of life and calling.
Celebrating Our Recent Graduates
We’re thrilled to celebrate Daniel, Brandon, and Isaiah, who have just completed their three-month internship. They’ve been an incredible blessing to the team and to Community Church in Nagoya.
Nilesh, the course leader, shares:
“Part of their growth has come from what they’ve discovered about themselves—being away from home in a very different culture for the first time. It’s been inspiring to see their faith deepen and how much they’ve learned in such a short time.”
Here are reflections from some of the interns:
“In April, I had the incredible opportunity to spend three months in Nagoya, Japan. Serving with Community Church, especially through street outreach and the Global Cafe multicultural group, stretched and strengthened my faith. I made deep friendships and was truly blessed by the community.
Immersing myself in Japanese culture and language gave me a lasting appreciation for both. I pray more Christians step into this internship and carry the hope of Jesus to Japan.”
Brandon
“Being part of the internship was a great experience. It gave me a unique opportunity to witness God moving in the hearts of the Japanese people. I learned so much about how we can help others come to know Jesus. I especially enjoyed being involved in the church’s outreach and translation work, and making new friendships through the Global Cafe. It was a big step forward in my faith.”
Daniel
Looking Ahead
As one cohort wraps up, another begins. Servus, a new intern who has just started a 12-month internship, is already building connections on the local university campus. His heart is to share Jesus with students and lay the foundations for a vibrant student ministry.
